Every year, tens of thousands of Texas teenagers make bad decisions that land them in the Juvenile Justice System. Some of these children come from good homes with loving parents. Often they have received inadequate parenting, been exposed to few role and have been exposed to few role models. They lack the nurturing that fosters good judgment and builds self-esteem, as well as the positive feedback from a loving person that builds confidence. Drug abuse on the part of the parents, juveniles, or both is nearly always a factor.
Of these thousands of children, twenty-six find their way from all over Texas to the Ever Change Academy. We expose them to personal, individual attention from authority figures who care deeply about them. Here they are provided with structure, safety, care, education, counseling, spiritual guidance and an opportunity to learn about, and to choose a different way to live. We need your help to do this good work. No gift is too small to make a difference.
Your financial contributions would greatly assist us in meeting the many needs of our residents and the facility. Continual needs include: school and office supplies, uniforms, undergarments, and personal hygiene products, medications, cleaning supplies, equipment and furniture, paper goods, and other household-type items. Periodic needs include: new technology for classrooms and administrative offices and funding for special outings and community service projects. Whereas we do receive funds from the counties of origin, these monies generally cover the bills, employee salaries, gasoline and general maintenance of the facility and vehicles. Thus, we rely on generous donors to keep our program up and running.
